For the first time since its inception the Gamble Cup in 2011 was played at a course other then Puslinch. The match was moved to Turtle Creek Golf Club in Campbellville due in large part to Gary Gamble having free passes.
It was a beautiful day for the tournament. Past champions Gary Gamble and Stephen Gamble were paired together with Kyle Frasier in anticipation of a 3-way showdown.
In the lead group Scott Gamble, Jeff Gamble, and Martin Gamble had mixed results on the first tee with only Scott Gamble managing to score points, after opening the round with a par.
At the turn (after 9 holes) both groups met to discuss their progress. Gary, Stephen, and Kyle were all having relatively success rounds and close in score but shocked to learn that Scott Gamble had already amassed 16 points and had built a 7 point lead that would prove to be impossible for anyone catch.
By the 17 hole the match was already won when not even a hole in one could catch the leader.
The Cup was presented for the first time to Scott Gamble in a post match party at the home of Martin and Lisa Gamble.
This year marked the first time that the cup was presented directly to the champion rather than waiting for Christmas.
